Great Meals for Mom on Her Day

Wondering where to dine on Mother’s Day? Consider these five fine brunches.

The Boheme

The recent makeover of The Boheme hasn’t hurt the popularity of its practically legendary Sunday brunch, and Mother’s Day should be no exception. The restaurant and sixth-floor pool area will host all-day feasts for Mom and the brood, with upscale highlights including Chateaubriand with truffle demi-glace, hand-rolled sushi, live jazz and a complimentary mimosa for Mom.
$69.95, Boheme brunch, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; $59.95, pool area; 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Grand Bohemian Hotel, 325 S. Orange Ave. Orlando, 407-313-9000. grandbohemianhotel.com

La Coquina

A view of the idyllically named Lake Windsong, made-to-order entrees and a French marketplace setting at the Grand Cypress will all make for a very happy Mom. In addition to the already overflowing stations featuring pasta, seafood and waffles, usually found at Sunday brunch, several especially-for-Mom dishes grace the menu, including Peruvian sea bass and rack of lamb.
$71.95 adults, $35.95 children under 12; 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Gaylord Palms Resort

Whether Mom hankers for a breakfast of poached eggs over crab cakes, quiche Lorraine and hand-made omelets for lunch, or rosemary-brushed roast beef for dinner, her plate will be full at this all-day Mediterranean spree. The open market-style Villa de Flora dining room has touches of France, Italy, Greece and Spain coming out of the six separate kitchens.
$52 adults, $21.50 children 3-12; noon-10 p.m.

Crave

While the word “brunch” (breakfast and lunch, natch) has been a beloved term since 1896, Crave’s Mother’s Day repast may add “never-ending’’ to the definition. The “all you can eat” affair offers family-style platters of eggs, applewood smoked bacon, Tillamook cheddar, ham and house-made hash browns to complement the offerings at the carving station and omelet bar.
$22.95 adults, $12.95 children under 12; 10a.m.-3p.m.

Park Plaza Gardens

Mom probably already knows how good this perennial
favorite is. The selections at Park Plaza Gardens are surprisingly hearty: pan-seared pork tenderloin, Prince Edward Island mussels and poached eggs “California” (replete with scallops, avocado, and red and yellow tomatoes) highlight the menu. A dinner seating is also available, featuring PPG’s fabulous crabmeat-and-asparagus-topped veal Oscar.
$49.95 per person, includes unlimited mimosas; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. 319 Park Ave. S., Winter Park, 407-645-2465. parkplazagardens.com
