Swamp Sistas Launch “Power Lines” With Benefit Concert for Second Harvest Food Bank
Don't miss this event benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
Get ready for an unforgettable night of music and community spirit as Beth McKee & the Swamp Sistas take the stage for a special benefit concert at the Timucua White House on Friday, November 7. The event marks the debut of the collective’s inspiring new project, “Power Lines,” a year-long musical journey dedicated to fighting hunger in Central Florida.
A New Kind of Musical Movement
The Swamp Sistas are an ever-evolving group of Central Florida musicians founded by acclaimed singer-songwriter Beth McKee and have long blended creativity and compassion. With Power Lines, they’re taking that mission further than ever before. The project will launch its title track single and music video during the November 7 event, kicking off a series of new singles released every six weeks throughout the year.
Each release will connect fans to fundraising and volunteer opportunities supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, amplifying the power of art as a force for good.
More Than a Concert
The evening will feature a dynamic performance by Beth McKee & her Funky-Time Band, alongside appearances from Bill Collins and Greg Higgerson of Second Harvest. Fellow Swamp Sistas and friends will also join in, bringing an eclectic mix of local talent to one of Orlando’s most intimate and art-filled venues.
In true Swamp Sistas fashion, the concert isn’t just about music; it’s about making a difference. All proceeds, including the group’s performance fee, download revenue, and recording royalties from the Power Lines project, will go directly to Second Harvest Food Bank to help combat food insecurity across the region.
Connection as a Cause
“‘Power Lines’ is about connection—the way creativity and community can flow together,” says McKee. “We’re thrilled to share this project with our community and invite everyone to plug in and join the movement.”
Since its founding, the Swamp Sistas collective has become a symbol of collaboration and community impact, uniting musicians, fans, and volunteers to use art as a tool for social change. Power Lines continues that legacy, promising a year of meaningful music that keeps the energy and generosity flowing.
