Recipe of the Month: Vic’s Wooden Leg at The Edison at Disney Springs
A core cocktail at The Edison.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Jamaican rum (The Edison uses Appleton Estate)
0.5 oz. dry curacao
0.5 oz. orgeat
1 oz. lime juice
0.25 oz. St. Augustine
rum float
2 dashes Angostura bitters float
Directions:
Add all ingredients except St. Augustine rum and Angostura to a shaker and shake well. Strain over crushed ice into a tall Collins glass and finish with the rum and Angostura float on top. Garnish with a lime wheel.
Serve in:
A tall Collins glass.
“This is my spin on a mai tai,” says Steinhauer. “The name is a reference to Trader Vic, who had a wooden leg and of course created this classic drink. Its flavor leans more toward the tart and strong side but still has enough sweetness to make anyone happy. The addition of the St. Augustine Rum as a float is to show off that funky banana nose.”
