A Lemon-Coriander Shrub Cocktail
Ingredients: Monkey shoulder blended scotch whiskey or Japanese whiskey, Madeira, Lemon-Coriander Shrub.
How to make: Stir all 3 ingredients double the average stir, pour up or over ice depending on how long you want your drink to last.
Garnish: Express a lemon twist.
Make it!
- 1oz whiskey
- 1oz Madeira
- 1oz Lemon-Coriander shrub
- Lemon/coriander shrub:
- 4 cups white sugar
- Peels of 4 lemons
- 2 tbsp whole coriander seed, lightly toast them
- 1 qt rice vinegar
Add lemon peels and coriander to sugar and let sit out overnight. Add 1 qt of water, bring to a boil, remove from heat and strain. Measure the syrup and add half its liquid volume in rice vinegar (i.e. 1 pint of vinegar to 1 qt of syrup).
