How Major Events Are Responding to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
These planned gatherings are rescheduled or canceled!
Major upcoming events across Central Florida are now rescheduled or canceled, after local COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. Here’s where several of these gatherings stand:
March 13:Lit AF Tour hosted by Martin Lawrence
The LIT AF Tour, hosted by Martin Lawrence on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 7:30 PM at Amway Center has been postponed. Tomorrow’s postponement is consistent with the joint global entertainment task force (AEG Presents /Live Nation/Major Talent Agencies), in light of the continuing concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus). The reschedule date is to be determined and more information will follow. Ticket holders are asked to hold onto their tickets as they will be valid for the new date.
March 13: Uncorked
“In response to COVID-19 we are postponing our performance of Uncorked with will now take place April 24, 2020. The health and safety of our patrons, community, dancers, and staff are of the utmost importance to us. Orlando Ballet is carefully monitoring COVID-19 news updates and recommendations from local, state, and national government and health resources.”
March 14: André Rieu concert
The André Rieu concert originally scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 at Amway Center is postponed. The rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future. Concert tickets and Geico Garage pre-paid parking will be honored for the new date. Rieu is very disappointed that he is unable to perform during his scheduled performance. He and his orchestra are looking forward to returning to Orlando to celebrate an unforgettable evening of joy, music and dance with his beloved fans. March 20 – 22: 61st Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival
“Due to current information regarding the potential spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), and events beyond our control, the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival (WPSAF), scheduled for Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 22, 2020, will be cancelled. The City of Winter Park and the WPSAF Committee decided together that the health and safety of the community, guests, event patrons, artists and staff are the very top priority. March 21: 2020 Orlando Cattle Baron’s Ball
Below is a statement about upcoming American Cancer Society events in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
“We are heading into what is an important time in our fundraising efforts for our mission, but the American Cancer Society’s top priority remains the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and the cancer patients and their loved ones who rely on us. Therefore, ACS is suspending all events through March 31. Once the COVID-19 threat has subsided, we will work with our volunteers and communities to reschedule them. Moving forward, we will soon decide about events currently scheduled for April and then, if this public health threat stretches out over several weeks, we will again assess and make decisions beyond April. We are grateful for all the dedication of our volunteers and appreciate the sacrifices they make to support our events. These events will be back. The COVID-19 situation remains uncertain and fluid and our goal is to respond in a way that best meets the health and safety needs of those who rely on us.”
March 27 – 29: Rollins Alumni Weekend 2020
This event has been rescheduled to March 4 – 7, 2021.

This event has been rescheduled to October 16 – 18, 2020.
March 28: Taste of Oviedo
The Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce, in consultation with the City of Oviedo and the Florida Department of Health, has decided to postpone the 26th annual Taste of Oviedo, presented by Air Flow Designs Heating & Air Conditioning, due to rising concerns regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). Taste of Oviedo is now scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2020.
Sunday, March 15 – March 31: Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World will close all 6 of its Orlando theme parks / water parks as of Sunday at close of business through the rest of the month.

Universal Orlando will close all 3 of its Orlando theme parks / water parks as of Sunday at close of business through the rest of the month.
April 17 – 26: 2020 Florida Film Festival
This event has been postponed.
April 18: College Park Spring Fest
This event has been postponed.
April 19 – 25: Winter Park Paint Out
This event has been indefinitely postponed.

This MLS season is currently suspended until further notice.

This ECHL season is currently suspended until further notice.

These locations are closed until further notice.
Ongoing: Central Florida Community Arts
Extending cancellations through at least Saturday, May 9 for all rehearsals, in-person classes and lessons, auditions and events.
Ongoing: Orange County Library System
All 16 locations will be closed until further notice.
Ongoing: The Enzian
The Enzian will be closed until April 2.
Ongoing: Leu Gardens
The Gardens are open through April 15. The City of Orlando will determine if it stays open beyond that date.
Ongoing: Orlando Shakes Goes Dark Through March 31
Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF will suspend performances March 16 – March 31, 2020. The theater will continue performances through Sunday, March 15. The novel coronavirus situation is rapidly evolving and Orlando Shakes will update plans as necessary.
Ongoing: Dr. Phillips Center and the Bob Carr Theater
These shows are currently postponed. We are working to reschedule the dates. We will alert ticket buyers as soon as a new date has been scheduled or if the show has been canceled. Ticket buyers should hold on to their tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled performance date. These shows are currently canceled. Within 3 weeks, you should expect refund ticket purchases to the credit/debit card you used. Please check with your bank for confirmation of funds.
March 23, 2020 Update: Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, the producers of the national touring companies of MISS SAIGON and A BRONX TALE have just announced they will be canceling the remainder of their scheduled engagements, including those at Dr. Phillips Center — March 31-April 5, 2020 and April 28-May 3, 2020 respectively. What’s next? Ticket holders for these shows will be contacted by email within the next 5 days and offered options that include: an account credit, gift certificate, transferring your ticket into a charitable donation, or a refund.

“This is an update from Mad Cow Theatre on COVID-19. Based on this the CDC’s recommendation that groups of 10 or more not gather for the next 8 weeks, we wanted to share with you our plans to prioritize the well-being of our audiences, artists, collaborators and colleagues and follow the guidelines. Our production of All My Sons, scheduled to open on March 25th, will be postponed to a later date. Valencia College’s Cinema Nights, scheduled for March 23th, All My Sons Drama Club, scheduled for March 20th, and our annual fundraiser, The Black & White Bash, scheduled for May 2nd will also be postponed.” – Mitzi Maxwell, Executive Director
All single ticket holders for performances through May 10th will receive non-expiring credits to their account for future use. If you are a subscriber and hold unused tickets to All My Sons, no additional action on your part is necessary to receive your account credit. The box office will be reaching out individually to those who have tickets to cancelled performances, and we encourage you to wait for that communication as we do expect a higher than normal volume of phone calls. Due to the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus, our Board of Directors and Member Council in conjunction with the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center have decided to postpone our March 29th performance of Send in the Crowns. We are hoping to reschedule pending availability and following the guidelines of local and national authorities.
