Editor Letter for February: February Or Bust
Our February issue has arrived, and while it may be the shortest month of the year, it is anything but short on stories, inspiration, and reasons to fall in love with Orlando all over again.

WE OPEN THIS ISSUE WITH A CELEBRATION OF ROMANCE, just in time for Valentine’s Day. From the lush beauty of Leu Gardens to the sleek, modern allure of the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, we highlight five not-so-secret spots that prove you do not need to leave town to create an unforgettable date. Whether you are planning an intimate afternoon stroll, a glamorous night out, or something in between, these locales offer the perfect backdrop for meaningful moments.
This month, we also turn back the clock. Long before Orlando became the city we know today, this magazine began its life in the 1940s as The Orlando Attraction. In this special retrospective, we explore the story of its founders and take a fascinating look at how magazines were created nearly a century ago. From type-setting to layout by hand, it is a reminder of how much has changed, and how storytelling remains at the heart of what we do.
Then, we take you somewhere a little warmer. Photo editor Roberto Gonzalez brings us to Key West with a stunning photo essay that captures the essence of island living. From sunlit beaches and iconic bars to charming resorts and hidden corners, these pages are designed to transport you straight to paradise. Fair warning: you may find yourself craving a cheeseburger in paradise by the time you’re done.
Our February feature continues a story close to our hearts: Black Leaders of Orlando, Volume II. This powerful collection highlights eight individuals whose voices, vision, and leadership continue to shape our city. Their stories reflect resilience, innovation, and deep community impact, and remind us that Orlando’s future is being written by those who lead with purpose.
Finally, February marks our bi-annual Wedding Issue, a favorite among couples planning their big day. From four stunning local weddings to fashion that celebrates every shape and size, this section is filled with inspiration. You’ll also find our 2026 Best of Wedding Hall of Fame winners and our comprehensive Orlando Wedding Venues List; your go-to resource for turning “someday” into “I do.”
As always, thank you for letting us be part of your story. Whether you’re falling in love, reminiscing, planning a wedding, or dreaming of your next escape, we hope this issue brings you joy.
Happy February.
