Cocktail Tap Dance
Local cocktails being offered on tap.
Cask & Larder (caskandlarder.com), the more relaxed sister of The Ravenous Pig family, is offering a hip alternative for your mixed drink needs: cocktails on tap.
A trend that’s been bubbling under the surface nationwide for a couple of years, draft cocktails are fun, unusual and scientifically viable; holding mixed drinks in a pressurized keg keeps them in a controlled and oxygen-free environment, perfect for keeping the punch in a spiked lemonade and the bubble in a gin fizz.
Beverage manager Amanda Gibbons Foor says the C&L Southern Public House is practiced at the art of made-on-site beers and uses that expertise in delivering batch cocktails. “Five gallon carbonated kegs make sure that each drink is perfectly mixed,” she says.
On a rotating menu are three seasonal blends, including the Paloma, made of Tequila El Destilador and both grapefruit and Burlesque bitters; and a Ransom dry gin and Jack Rudy small-batch tonic G&T, all arriving straight from brass pulls.
More to check out on tap in O-Town: The Courtesy (thecourtesybar.com) for the spiced rum and ginger beer Sailor Mule, or Fernet Branca and house-made cola; and the draft gin and Jack Rudy tonic at The Matador (facebook.com/TheMatadorBarOrlando).
