A New Magic Show Debuts at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando
For magician Drew Thomas, it's all in the family.
Magic has always been a family affair for illusionist Drew Thomas. “Like a lot of kids, I found it fascinating and fun. I always knew I wanted to perform magic,” he says. Thomas began engineering his own tricks at an early age (with inspiration from a magician’s hat his mother had given him) and later became a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”
Thomas is also the official magic consultant for Universal Studios’ “Wizarding World of Harry Potter™-—Ministry of Magic™” at Epic Universe. “I think people love the idea of being fooled by good magic,” he says.
Orlando magazine art director Milena Wambold had the chance to discover that for herself.
“I recently attended the Drew Thomas Magic Show at Grande Lakes Orlando and was thoroughly impressed,” says Wambold. “Drew’s stage presence and confidence were undeniable—he engaged the audience with ease and handled crowd interactions of all ages with professionalism and charm.”
“The show not only surpassed my expectations but also offered a unique blend of entertainment and emotion, with moments that were both exciting and genuinely touching,” adds Wambold, “like the mesmerizing trick using as soundtrack a song of English musician and singer-songwriter, Sting.”
“I don’t want to spoil the beauty and magic of the show, but for sure this was one of the most unexpected moments,” she adds.
A nice bonus, says Wambold, is that attendees can present their show tickets at the bar to receive a complimentary wine or beer with the purchase of an appetizer, adding an extra touch to an already memorable evening.
“Of course, we all witnessed an array of tricks from humans (Drew’s wife) and objects disappearing, to complex mathematical predictions,” she adds. “Highly recommended for anyone looking for a magical night out!”
