Orlando’s 2026-2027 Arts Season Preview: Judson’s Live Hits Its Stride as Orlando’s Most Intimate Stage
In just two years, Judson’s Live has evolved from an intriguing addition to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts campus into one of Central Florida’s defining music destinations.

FOR THE 2026–27 SEASON, THE 140-SEAT LISTENING ROOM CONTINUES TO LEAN INTO THE FORMULA that has made it a favorite among artists and audiences alike: world-class performances experienced up close, paired with elevated food and beverage service in a sophisticated cabaret setting.
The venue, tucked along South Street on the north side of the arts center, has quickly earned national attention. Earlier this year, DownBeat magazine recognized Judson’s Live as one of the world’s greatest jazz venues, while Orlando magazine readers honored it with awards for Best Live Music and Best Appetizers. Those accolades reflect an ambitious vision that extends beyond presenting concerts.
Judson’s Live was designed to recreate the atmosphere of legendary listening rooms, where audiences are close enough to hear every nuance and every performance feels personal.
That approach has resonated. Since opening in 2024, the venue has welcomed more than 87,000 guests across 946 performances representing more than 34 musical genres. Nearly half of those shows have featured Florida-based artists, while the remainder have brought acclaimed touring performers to downtown Orlando, creating a balance between hometown talent and nationally recognized acts.
Rather than focusing on a single genre, Judson’s Live continues to embrace eclecticism. Jazz remains its cornerstone, but the upcoming season also features blues, Americana, soul, Broadway-inspired entertainment, country songwriting showcases and contemporary chamber performances. Signature experiences return as well, including Nashville Nights, where hit songwriters share the stories behind chart-topping country songs; immersive wine tastings led by Master Sommelier George Miliotes; bourbon tastings hosted by Barrel Master Tom Fischer; Opera X, which reimagines opera in an intimate lounge environment; and Forgotten Broadway, an improvised musical revue that creates an entirely new show each night.
The performances are only part of the attraction. Judson’s Live was the first performance venue at Dr. Phillips Center to integrate full food and beverage service into the concert experience. Guests can order scratch-made small plates from Executive Chef Jason Klingensmith’s kitchen alongside craft cocktails, an extensive bourbon selection and wines curated by an in-house sommelier—all delivered tableside during performances.
Judson’s Live has carved out a distinct niche by prioritizing intimacy over scale; quality over quantity. Whether welcoming Grammy-winning musicians, rising singer-songwriters or Orlando favorites, the venue offers something increasingly rare: the opportunity to experience exceptional music from just a few feet away. As its third season begins, that combination of artistic excellence, culinary sophistication and close connection between performer and audience continues to make Judson’s Live one of Central Florida’s most compelling nights out.
