The Modernism Museum Mount Dora is pleased to announce its new exhibition, Space Oddities: The Sequel. The exhibition opens on Tuesday, July 9th and will run until mid-2020.
Space Oddities: The Sequel expands upon the Modernism Museum’s exhibition of mind-bending Post-Modern designs created by the radical 1980s design collective known as Memphis. This exhibit features hundreds of new Memphis design objects never-before displayed at the Modernism Museum. It also features many items from the remarkable 2016 Sotheby’s auction of David Bowie’s personal Memphis collection, which was assembled over decades of careful consideration. One of the most famous and prolific Memphis collectors, Space Oddities: The Sequel includes many important pieces personally owned by David Bowie, the legendary pop icon, artist, author, actor and astute art collector.
