This Weekend In Orlando February 28 to March 1

A brief overview of this weekend's events in and around Orlando.

It’s cooling down and it looks like rain for the weekend. A little rain’s never stopped us before though. Here in Orlando, we know how to have a good time rain or shine. So if you’re already planning your weekend, here are just a few highlights of the happenings in and around town:

February 27 – 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm – Sanford Art Walk
Looking for something out of the movie-and-dinner date night box? Then take a drive out to downtown Sanford and walk through the galleries and art spaces down on First Street between Magnolia and Sanford avenues. Take in the culture, nightlife, food, and art this river town has to offer and possibly find some treasures to take home with you. For more info: sanfordartwalk.com 

February 28 – Seminole State Foundation Dream Gala
Celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary at this black tie event. Held at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, the gala features dinner, a live band, live and silent auctions, and a car raffle. February 28 – 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Trash 2 Trends
This event has a little bit for everybody. It’s an innovative blend of art, fashion, and environmentalism put together to promote sustainability. Over 30 local designers and artists create apparel and accessories from recycled materials and display it in the fashion show style. March 1 – 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm – Bach Festival Society 
This is the closeout concert in the 80th annual Bach Festival concert series. Sunday’s installment will feature J.S. Back’s Mass in B Minor, held on the Rollins College Campus, Winter Park, in the Knowles Memorial Chapel. For more info: bachfestivalflorida.com
