The Engagement Party
You’re engaged—it’s time to celebrate! Traditionally, the bride’s parents host the engagement party. If they’re unable, the duties fall to the groom’s parents or friends. When selecting the date make sure parents, relatives, and close friends can all attend. Those making the guest list to the engagement party (or any other party pertaining to the wedding) should ultimately be invited to the wedding as well. To avoid hurting anyone’s feelings, keep the party small. Gift giving is not mandatory at this type of event (so don’t include registry information on the invitation), however some guests may still bring a present.
