GAY DAYS
June 2-8 The annual, all-over-town celebration returns, with Gay Day in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World one of the signature events, along with comedy, music, dances, pool parties and the Gay Days Expo on June 4-6. JUNETEENTH AND JAZZ MUSIC FESTIVAL
June 20 Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Events scheduled for the Wells’ Built Museum, Wells’ Heritage House and Lake Eola Park include a jazz, blues and gospel concert at Eola featuring local artists. SILVER SPURS RODEO
June 5-7 The largest rodeo east of the Mississippi celebrates its 123rd outing. Ranked among the top 50 events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, it grew from a humble gathering of Osceola County ranchers in 1941. The rodeo celebrates the cowboy way of life as it has been lived in Florida for more than a century, and includes events such as barrel racing, bull riding, bareback bronco riding, steer wrestling and roping. $15; children 10 and younger free.
