July 17-18 Ready to see those wacky mascots get pummeled? More than 30 costumed characters, including the Orlando Magic’s Stuff, Knightro from the University of Central Florida, and Albert and Alberta from the University of Florida, will battle one another in gladiator-style games to determine the true champion. Proceeds from the 17th annual Celebrity Mascot Games benefit New Hope for Kids, an Orlando non-profit organization that supports children and families grieving the death of a loved one and grants wishes to kids suffering from life-threatening illnesses. July 31 The Citrus Club’s Young Executive Board and Social/Philanthropy Committees present a James Bond Themed Casino Night to benefit the City of Life Orlando organization. Tournaments will be held in Craps, Black Jack, Roulette, and Poker. 7 p.m.-11 p.m. $50 per person, with an additional $25 to participate in tournaments. July 25 Scavenge around Orlando with teams of eight to 14 people in five-star limousines, gathering items and completing tasks for points to win prizes. Participation fee includes limousine, admission to Howl at the Moon, free drink specials and an appetizer buffet to benefit I’m Too Young For This, a young-adult cancer foundation. 5-11:30 p.m. $60 registration before June 27, $75 after. July 11 Lake Mary’s Front Running Sports hosts the first Run for Africa 5K to benefit the Florida Satellite office of the Children of the Nations.
