The month-long festival will include exhibits at 20 Orlando-area locations, as well as sites in Tampa and Daytona Beach.

The photography festival will run May 1-30 and feature exhibits at more than 20 locations, including Maitland Art Center, Orlando Museum of Art, Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College, Alfond Inn in Winter Park and Enzian theater, as well as the Snap! Space gallery, 1013 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando. Additional exhibits will be in Tampa and Daytona Beach. Most are free, but there will also be paid, VIP events. A few highlights: (in above image, left to right):

• “Weapons of Choice,” created by New Jersey photographer Richard Johnson. Hoping to create images that would jolt viewers into grasping the depth of damage caused by verbal abuse, Johnson took portraits of verbally abused children and adults who agreed to pose with the hurtful words painted across their faces and bodies.
   
• A poignant collaboration between Miami photographer Sean Black and his father, James Black. Sean, whose focus includes depicting the lives of homeless people, became fascinated by pictures of Europe taken by his father decades ago and includes them in the exhibition. 
   
• Quirky, compelling portraits by Californian Gregg Segal, who asked people to save a week’s worth of their garbage, then photographed them surrounded by it. Oddly, it isn’t the garbage that captures your eye but rather the candid expressions Segal coaxed out of the people themselves.
   
• Recently discovered images of Andy Warhol, taken by commercial photographer William John Kennedy in 1964. They capture Warhol just as he was coming into fame as the principal inventor of the pop art movement.
