Get ready to revisit one of Orlando Shakes’ most beloved productions, The Hound of the Baskervilles is back, and it’s funnier, faster, and more mysterious than ever. Running through November 2, this revival marks the triumphant return of the theater’s most popular show after an eight-year hiatus.
Directed by Jim Helsinger, the production transforms Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale into a madcap comedy filled with quick changes, clever wordplay, and infectious energy. Three powerhouse actors, Timothy Williams, Blake Croft, and Philip Nolen bring more than a dozen characters to life, slipping between roles with dizzying speed and comedic precision.
“Playing Sherlock Holmes is a thrill on its own, but in this production I get to jump into multiple characters, which makes it even more exciting,” says Williams. “The quick changes, the accents, the physical comedy—it all keeps me on my toes. The best part is hearing the audience laugh right along with us.”
The experience begins before the curtain even rises. Thanks to an immersive lobby installation created in collaboration with UCF, guests are transported to the misty moors of Baskerville the moment they step into the John & Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
“This production is a master class in comedy,” adds Helsinger. “Eight years later, I’m excited to bring this fan-favorite back to the Orlando Shakes stage. Expect even more mayhem and madness; perfect for the Halloween season.”
Mystery, laughter, and a dash of fright await at Orlando Shakes’ The Hound of the Baskervilles, running now through November 2.
