Restaurants across Central Florida are reviving the General Store to combat low sales and help the community.
The General Store concept is making a comeback as restaurants and local suppliers struggle to cope with stay-at-home orders and dining restrictions. General Stores are also providing food and essential items in food deserts, and hard-to-find items for our community. Let’s take a look a 5 local General Stores:
4 Rivers Smokehouse
Get groceries to go at 4 Rivers! Finding certain items in the grocery store right now can be quite challenging. 4 Rivers is here to help make things a little easier on everyone by offering Groceries 4R You! Groceries 4R You was created so you can pick up the items you need at home on your next trip to the Smokehouse. Click here to see a complete list of their current offerings. Items are available while supplies last. Limited quantities per guest for some items. All 4 Rivers Smokehouses are currently offering pop-up drive-thru stations, excluding Downtown Orlando, so folks can pick up their 4 Rivers orders without leaving the comfort of their cars.
Panera is making it easier for families to have access to clean household ingredients with the launch of Panera Grocery. How does it work? Simply go to the Panera App or website and select “Panera Grocery”, or find the “Panera Grocery” items on Grubhub, and add the items to your order. Some items that will be available through Panera Grocery include: 2% milk, Skim milk, fresh classic white loaf and whole grain pan loaf, bagel packs, French baguettes, Greek yogurt, kids’ yogurt tubes, blueberries, red grapes, apples, avocadoes, vine ripe tomatoes, and more. Dexter’s New Standard Market + Bakeshop
Dexter’s The New Standard has opened a Market + Bakeshop with a wide variety of items to choose from. Order by 1:00 p.m. on Monday for Wednesday pickup or delivery. Order by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday for Friday pickup and delivery. They’re even offering special baked goods on Sunday. Click here for the menu!
Moe’s Southwest Grill
Moe’s Southwest Grill knows grocery store aisles continue to be barren and people are struggling to purchase the foods they love. To help communities get access to their favorites and staples that are no longer available at their local grocery store, Moe’s Southwest Grill launched Moe’s Market – a new offering where people can buy food in bulk through the restaurants. Customers can order a la carte proteins, including 3 pound or 5 pound white meat chicken, adobo chicken, steak, pork and ground beef and a la carte ingredients include rice, beans, salsa, queso, guacamole, cheese, chips, chipotle ranch, and tortillas. Orders can be placed through the Moe’s app, website, or in-store and are available for curbside pickup, delivery (free through April 10), and to-go. Orders should be placed 2 hours in advance!
