What is a periodontist? A periodontist is a dental specialist who has completed 3 years of advanced education beyond dental school and is uniquely trained in the treatment of periodontal (gum) diseases and placement of dental implants.
Advice: Gum disease is often silent and painless. In fact, you may not even know you have the disease until it’s too late, so routine examinations are important.
