Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week Hosts its Third Annual Design Contest

July 21, 2010 – Winter Park, Florida – Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week (HPAFW) is looking for design students, fashion aficionados and anyone else who resides within the state of Florida who has what it takes to enter the HPAFW Emerging Designer Contest. Contestants must submit photos or sketches of their designs and at least two looks from a 10-piece collection by September 13, 2010. Three semi-finalists will be chosen by a panel, which includes fashion legacy and title sponsor, Harriett Lake, previous HPAFW Emerging Designer winner, Diana Simaan, as well as fashion stylists, editors and high-end fashion retailers: Tammara Kohler of Fused Fashion, Aimee Hitchner of Ginger Boutique, Sabrina James of Babytalk Magazine and Parenting.com, Kristina Mackinder of The Park Press and Shelley Preston of Orlando Magazine. Once notified, semi-finalists will have two additional weeks to fine-tune their collections before showcasing their clothing in an individual editorial photo shoot produced by Tammara Kohler of Fused Fashion.  One winner will be chosen based on the collection’s translation into print. On the night of the HPAFW fashion show, the three semi-finalists will appear in a video featuring personal interviews and a behind-the-scenes footage from the photo shoot.  The previously determined winner will be revealed at HPAFW 2010 with his or her own personal runway show. The winner’s photo shoot will appear in Orange Appeal Magazine. They will also receive the opportunity to carry their line in a boutique participating in HPAFW for one month, accompanied by a trunk show.
