Lindsey and Ryan

Lindsey Banniza and Ryan Merck, both 25, were only 15 minutes into a helicopter tour over Orlando’s attractions area when the pilot informed the couple that he would have to turn back due to excessive air traffic. While hovering 500 yards above the helipad, Ryan, a financial analyst at Lockheed Martin, drew Lindsey’s attention to the ground below. There, 15 spray-painted shower curtains were arranged to pop the question: “Will you marry me?” Lindsey, a sixth-grade language arts teacher in Polk County, took a second look, not convinced the proposal was for her. But the ring in Ryan’s hand quickly resolved the confusion and she answered with a resounding “Yes!”
