Lasting Radiance
How to keep hair and makeup looking fresh all throughout your beachside wedding.
Bright sunshine, blue waves, and white sand make a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding, but many brides worry about how a seaside setting will affect their hair and makeup. Jillian Caro, professional hair and makeup artist, says you can embrace all of the natural elements with confidence by following a few tips for a beach wedding look.
“I tell my brides that clean hair wilts faster in humidity,” says Caro. “Washing your hair a day before the wedding allows your hair to hold its style a little better.”
When it comes to styles, an effortless windswept look works best. “Whether you are more comfortable wearing your hair up or down, make sure to go for a style where you can quickly run your fingers through and fix it if needed,” Caro adds.
She also notes that brides should have a variety of different lip products on hand during their big day.
“Lips are the first, and most consistent, thing to fade away,” she says. “For all-day coverage, a matte lipstick holds a little longer than creamier lipsticks, and a lip stain can be used underneath lipstick or lip gloss as a primer.”
Some necessary tools to keep close by, says Caro, are blotting tissue to control oil or sweat, and bobby pins to secure accessories like a headpiece or veil. Here are a few of Caro’s must-have products for a beautiful beach wedding look.
