Ahmed H. Hashim was hanging out after midnight in downtown Orlando, not far from the main library, when he noticed a pedicab full of passengers. When two additional people hopped onboard, the amateur shutterbug pulled out his camera, which he usually keeps handy for just such occasions. Hashim was struck by the contrast between the group of merry passengers and the lone bicyclist who, he recalls, “was having a tough time” pulling all that weight up an incline. Not that the hardworking bicyclist was actually unhappy. “He was smiling,” says Hashim. “He was having fun, too.”
