Sept. 30, 2010, was a typical workday for oncology pharmaceutical sales representative Danny Holcomb, until he met Jessica Lariviere, a nurse at a doctor’s office he called on. They chatted over lunch, and before she left for the day, Danny called and asked her out, but not before phoning a friend to say he had just fallen in love. Two days later, Danny, 37, took Jessica, 28, to dinner at the Melting Pot where they sat in Lover’s Lane, a special section in the restaurant, and a fast and furious romance began. In December 2010, Danny bought a ring, sought her parents’ blessing, then whisked Jessica off for a romantic getaway to Savannah, Ga., where he had pre-arranged a carriage ride through town. As the driver pulled up to Whitefield Square, he shared a story of lovers kissing in the gazebo for good fortune and happiness. Smitten by the tale, Jessica pulled Danny in for a kiss, then he dropped to one knee and proposed. They married on the anniversary of their first date, Oct. 1, 2011, with Jessica arriving by carriage to a square reminiscent of Whitefield Square. “I’ll never forget that moment,” says Jessica. “The intimate detail may have seemed minor to guests, but it was very symbolic to us.”
