The Best of Storytellers 1996–2008

For the past twelve years, teens who live in diverse neighborhoods from Sanford to Kissimmee have participated in the Storytellers program, using photography to give insight into their changing worlds. Storytellers creator and Crealdé executive director Peter Schreyer selected highlights from the award-winning outreach program.

Abstracted Realities
Through August 14
Works by Orlando painter Keith Theriot and Orlando glass sculptor Nick Bingham. Theriot’s work was inspired by a recent collaboration with musician Scott Robertson, whose blend of electronic and Native American instruments moved Theriot to interpret the music with visual art. Orlando glass sculptor Nick Bingham integrated glass art into his wood work to create what he calls “a unique marriage of two completely different materials that complete one another.”

Sacred Places, Sacred History: Black Churches of West Winter Park
Through September 26
An exhibition of photographs and educational panels created by Rebekah McCloud, a historian who specializes in black churches. McCloud won the 2003-04 Rhea Marsh and Dorothy Lockhard Smith Research Grant from the Winter Park Public Library, and used the grant money to provide insight into the rich history of west Winter Park’s churches and the important role they played in community life.
