Trinity Preparatory School of Florida | Winter Park, Florida

Trinity Preparatory School of Florida is committed to nurturing the next generation of STEM leaders through a multi-faceted learning experience that will foster a lifetime passion and interest in STEM. As we break ground on our next-generation Nochur Sankar Science Center, which plans to open in Fall 2025, Dr. Romina Jannotti has ensured that our students will have high-level biotechnology facilities available for high-level experimentation, microbiology-based research, and continued success in the state and international science fairs.

Successfully revitalizing the FIRST Technical Challenge robotics team, Chris Henderson led the students to their first-ever state championship. Focused on engineering, programming, and learning about “gracious professionalism,” students have had the opportunity to expand their knowledge at the local, state, and international levels. Appealing to our students who reach for the stars, as our school motto proclaims, Ad Astra Per Aspera, Dr. Elmarie Mortimer, and Michelle Chicas provide students with a unique opportunity to collaborate with NASA professionals and explore the frontiers of space exploration. Dr. Mortimer and Ms. Chicas guide our students through innovative projects that address real-world challenges astronauts face.

Increasing the reach of the school and its programs, the school has developed partnerships with Parklands College and the Sakhikamva Foundation (both in Cape Town, South Africa) to begin a project involving the International Space Station to broaden our students’ global perspectives, explore aerospace, and foster international collaboration. Alex Podchaski will take the lead on the technology portion of the project. Through this partnership, our students will connect with peers worldwide and work on future projects related to robotics and, one day, reaching the International Space Station.

Our faculty empowers students to become future STEM leaders by offering exceptional programs like those highlighted above. Their dedication, expertise, and passion for teaching are instrumental in creating a vibrant and inspiring learning environment. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our students and faculty, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to STEM education.
