The art of seduction. That’s what Rachel Richardson gave her husband-to-be as a surprise gift.
“I had the photos taken . . . so that I could show him a side of me he’s never seen before,” says Richardson, 24, of Orlando.
Bound in a small book, the photos show Richardson in sexy poses wearing lingerie. She gave the boudoir photo book to her fiancé on the eve of their wedding in April. He was glad she did.
With boudoir photography, brides can be seductive without being X-rated. Professional photographers call it “implied nudity,” using angles, poses, lingerie and little else to create provocative images.
Kalysa Wilson, owner of Ashira Photography in Orlando, says clients usually arrive with the jitters, but after taking a few shots and making some wardrobe changes they relax and enjoy the experience of modeling.
Wilson says boudoir sessions last at least 30 minutes, allowing time for about four outfit changes. The client can choose any style of image she wants, from romantic and glamorous to playful and sexy.
Boudoir photo sessions at bachelorette parties or as bridesmaid gifts are hot nowadays. Brides and their girlfriends in the bridal parties bring their sexiest lingerie but not their inhibitions. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres are served as women choose outfits and get ready for their private sittings with the photographer.
