Theodore Simeoni was a student at Florida Tech in 2006 when he first noticed Amber Ebberts on campus. Twice he tried to meet her, without success. “He finally introduced himself at a party his fraternity was hosting, weeks after his first attempt,” Amber says. The couple dated for more than three years, spending time trying new and exciting things together—skydiving, aerial acrobatics and snowboarding. It was on a leisurely cruise vacation—Amber’s first—that Teddy attempted his most daring act. “He proposed on the top deck of the cruise ship, our first night at sea,” Amber says. On the day of the wedding, both of them had butterflies, but the nervous feeling didn’t last. The cellist, an acquaintance from school, created a memorable moment that put everyone at ease. “During the ceremony, when I finally reached Teddy, our cellist paused during Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 prelude,” says Amber. “We all thought he was done, and just as our officiant opened his mouth to start the ceremony, the cellist continued playing. At the end of it, we all laughed. I was grateful to have the extra time to compose myself.” Overall, she says, “The day was better than I could have ever hoped for. Completely perfect.”
