A Celebration of Wildlife—and the Good Life
Thomasville, Georgia’s Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival features dozens of wildlife artists, fine dining, music, parties and a Southern-flavored Bird Dog Bash.
Thomasville, Georgia’s Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival has become one of Fall’s favorite highlights in South Georgia. It is a weeklong celebration that calls for cocktail dresses and cowboy boots, bourbon bars and bird dog statues, global sporting artists and Southern makers. And this year, the festival turns 21.
Wildlife artists often journey to Thomasville’s plantations to observe wildlife, enjoy the sporting life, and practice their craft. PWAF pairs a rich cultural history to the tastes and needs of great wildlife artists and art collectors today.
At the heart of the Festival is a fine arts show featuring 60 of the best sporting and wildlife artists and artisans. Throughout the week, there is something for everyone, like the Longleaf Affair’s black tie dinner, to painting and floral workshops with artists and tastemakers, to a family-friendly day at Afternoon in the Field with wildlife demonstrations and live shows, capped off with a JJ Grey & Mofro concert on the beautiful grounds of Pebble Hill Plantation.
And it all goes to a great cause—all Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival proceeds benefit Thomasville Center for the Arts, which is dedicated to enriching the creative life of the community through visual, performing, literary and applied arts.
Head to the Red Hills Region for a weekend of parties, workshops, art and more—it is an event and Thomasville is a town not to miss!

November 10:
Art in the Open Evening Public Art Walk, with a Wildlife Yarn Bomb, Installation Unveilings, Exhibition Openings and Fiber Art Demonstrations, all in downtown Thomasville’s Creative District. Presented by Hurst Boiler.
November 11:
The Longleaf Affair Dinner with Master French Chefs Jonathan Jerusalmy of Sea Island, GA & Nico Romo of Charleston, SC. A black tie evening in Pebble Hill Plantation’s exclusive main dining room, capped off with a Game of Chance. Presented by Wellington & Sheilds & Co, LLC.
Novemeber 13:
Afternoon in the Field & Concert with wildlife shows, live demonstrations, and more, like the Red Hills Rover Rally that takes guests back road driving in neighboring plantations. Florida-raised jammer JJ Grey & Mofro takes the stage at the end of the day, all on the beautiful grounds at Pebble Hill Plantation. Afternoon in the Field is presented by Thomas County Federal; Red Hills Rover Rally is presented by The Wright Group.
November 17:
Women of Wildlife Painting Workshop with 2016 Featured Painter Lyn St. Clair and South African artist Michelle Decker at Studio 209.
On the Hunt Floral Composition Workshop with St. Simons Island’s The Vine event designers Bryce Vann Brock & Kelly Revels at Studio 209.
Out of the Woods: Cocktails & Conversations with Julia Reed, James Farmer and Ann & Sid Mashburn at a lovely, local Thomasville home. Presented by Arcus Capital Partners.
November 18:
Opening Night Fine Art Show Party at Thomasville Center for the Arts. Get a first glance at the show with live music, a curated dinner spread and libations. Presented by Commercial Bank.
November 19:
Bird Dog Bash at Pebble Hill Plantation’s Sugar Hill Barn. Live music with Tallahassee’s Groove Merchants band, southern fare and seasonal libations. Presented by Commercial Bank.
