The Walt Disney Company founded The Celebration Company (a mere 5 miles from Walt Disney World), a positive community that celebrates a better way to live. Its blueprint was built by a team of city and social planners, as well as architects, on five key concepts: sense of community, sense of place, focus on technology, focus on education and focus on health.

Making Memories Together

Celebration’s first two tenets combine social interaction and the areas in which they take place. “Places” take many forms at Celebration, whether that be a town hall or a neighbor’s porch. The community’s master plan provides plenty of opportunities to get together and make memories, and signature buildings designed in the world’s greatest architectural styles provides timeless character to residential neighborhoods—among those you’ll find here are Classical, Colonial, French, Coastal, Mediterranean and Victorian, offering a dwelling for any taste.

“Celebration was the first neighborhood to do back-of-the-house alleys, which encouraged people to live on their front porches and interact with each other in the neighborhood,” says Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer. “It was somewhat the inspiration for Baldwin Park—that’s what Baldwin Park does too.”

There are more than 40 neighborhood parks—with pools and water features—and 26 miles of walking trails in Celebration. There is also a community pool, open from May 1 through Labor Day. With the dozens of athletic clubs, arts programs and civic organizations available to residents, there are many ways to interact and get involved in the community. Celebration is also host to a year-round swimming club, the Celebration Cyclones, offering another outlet for fitness and fun.

A Community on the Rise

Celebration currently has about 10,000 residents, but with the population of Osceola County projected to increase by 73 percent in the next 25 years, it has developed a Facilities and Parks Master Plan Update to guide its improvements planned through 2029. The plan includes additional parks and recreation opportunities, school improvements and additional housing.

The area is known for its forward-thinking and stable schools, garnering strong credit rankings from Moody’s and Fitch.

“Achieving these high financial ratings is a reflection of our district’s ongoing commitment to strong fiscal stewardship, transparency and strategic planning,” said Dr. Mark Shanoff, Superintendent of the School District of Osceola. “These ratings not only affirm the trust our community places in us but also allow us to maximize resources that directly benefit our students and schools.”

Moody’s Ratings has assigned an initial Aa2 rating to the district’s approximately $109.6 million Capital Outlay Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2025.
