ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Dr. Hussain completed her internship in General Surgery and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is double Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Dr. Hussain is fluent in Spanish.

SERVICES

Dr. Hussain performs electrodiagnostic studies, joint and spinal injections, and has over ten years of experience injecting BOTOX and other agents for multiple conditions, including migraines.

INNOVATION

Dr. Hussain has a special interest in regenerative medicine and offers the latest technology in high-quality Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and image-guided injections with ultrasound and fluoroscopy. PRP is obtained from the patient’s own blood. The blood is spun at high velocity in a special machine. The plasma, with a high concentration of platelets, is separated along with special proteins (growth factors) that regulate the healing process, signaling surrounding cells to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new tissue. The PRP increases the natural ability of the body to heal itself. Studies have indicated that PRP may be useful in treating musculoskeletal injuries such as pulled muscles and
tendons, joint sprains, ligament tears, tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and joint degeneration such as knee osteoarthritis.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

Dr. Hussain is the president of the Florida Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds privileges at Orlando Health, AdventHealth Orlando and Celebration Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine.
