ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Dr. Cabrera is an adult neurologist who is board-certified by the American Academy of Neurology and Psychiatry. She has been devoted to the neurological field for over 25 years, with extensive experience as a clinician and a clinical investigator. Dr. Cabrera grew up in Cuba, where she completed her medical school and neurology residency for the first time at the National Institute of Neurology in Havana. After completing her neurology residency training at Duke University, she moved to Orlando, where she has practiced since 2007.

Dr. Cabrera is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Florida Society of Neurology. She is affiliated with Orlando Health and AdventHealth systems in Orlando. The scope of her practice includes Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, peripheral neuropathy and other neuromuscular disorders, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, and headaches.

WHAT SETS HER APART

Compassionate care with exquisitely deep knowledge in her field and a headstrong dedication to the missions of early diagnosis and effective therapeutic interventions. In fact, she has recently unlocked a new frontier in patient care. Dr. Cabrera is excited to be the first neurologist in the Greater Orlando area to start providing brain imaging in her office with the Swoop Brain MRI System. This new state-of-the-art technology is redefining the patient experience with an unprecedented accessibility that allows a swift, precise diagnosis, with answers to the patients right when they need it most. The office uses on-site electroencephalography (with video monitoring system), electromyography and nerve conduction studies, visual evoked potentials, and autonomic nervous system studies. They also conduct on-site skin biopsies for nerve density testing and diagnosing Parkinson’s disease and other synucleinopathies. Plus, a passionate team of rigorously selected personnel, including registered electrophysiology technicians and EEG technicians that are board-certified by the American Board of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).

SPARE TIME

Dr. Cabrera enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her two children, her parents, and Coco, the family dog—ideally all at once.
