ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Dr. Robert L. Masson is an internationally recognized neurosurgeon and pioneer in minimally invasive spine surgery and sports spine medicine. As the founder of the Masson Spine Institute (MSI) of Orlando, he specializes in cervical arthroplasty and lumbar microsurgery, helping patients from around the world restore performance and vitality after spine injury or degeneration.

A spine reconstruction patient himself, Dr. Masson, brings a deep personal commitment to recovery and performance. He emphasizes prevention, wellness, and healthy longevity as cornerstones of both his innovation and clinical practice.

Over his distinguished career, he has performed more than 14,000 microsurgical spine procedures, guiding athletes and active individuals of all ages toward functional restoration and high-performance living. Dr. Masson performs surgery at the MSI Outpatient Surgery Center of Excellence in West Orlando and has been honored as a “Surgeon of Excellence” by the Lantern Specialty Care Surgery Plan.

EDUCATION

Dr. Masson earned his medical degree in Biomedical Sciences with honors from the University of Florida, where he also completed his Neurological Surgery Residency with advanced specialization in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery, and minimally invasive spine techniques.
