November 21-23 This multicultural interpretation of the traditional holiday ballet has our main character, Claire, traveling from her home in uptown Harlem to West Africa, visiting exotic locales along the way. The cast includes professionals from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Boston Conservatory, as well as more than 200 young local dancers. Scenes are performed in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, African, Brazilian and Jamaican styles. A Laverne Reed Production presented by Southwest United Communities and Universal Child Care Performing Arts Center, which trains preschool participants.
