Rustic Glam

For those who are looking to mix old-fashioned glamour with a down-to-earth feel, a simple but sophisticated venue is a perfect compromise between homey and refined. In your search for the perfect location, take a look at sweet café-lit venues with the charm of the countryside as well as great estates that have the suavity and brightness of a royal retreat.

Joey Wright

This one-acre venue—complete with five ivy-covered barn-like structures that are surrounded by garden pathways and koi ponds—is a fairytale setting for brides embracing a farm-friendly, organic theme. Cacti, trees dripping in Spanish moss and large leaf plants hug every pathway of this natural sanctuary, and most of the buildings can be used as you wish. Located in College Park, the venue gives you the freedom to choose your own catering and décor.

Unique wooden architecture and a historic presence make the Winter Park Farmer’s Market a popular choice for brides looking for something with a Southern vibe. Originally home to a train depot, this countrified venue is lined with brick walls and wood sliding doors. The 2,800-square-feet of air conditioned space seats up to 140 guests and comes equipped with a prep kitchen for your choice of catering. Hang twinkling lights from the ceiling and decorate with floral accents to turn the venue into a starlit romantic rustic affair.

Heather Rice

An enchanting venue where tall oaks dot the grounds and peacocks roam, Highland Manor has a rural elegance perfect for the couple looking for a venue that’s as sophisticated as it is country. Housed on 11 acres of sprawling green, the venue can seat up to 250 guests.  The staff can provide coordination services that range from wedding tasting and menu guidance to the placement of place cards, and the estate has the most necessary of rental options—from chairs for the ceremony to paper lanterns to a laptop for any tech needs—to make planning your big day easier.

Sunset Boat: Garrett Nudd; Dock Couple, Striped Tent: Misty Miotto; Table Scape: Sasha Blackburne

Lakeside Love

For brides-to-be seeking a waterside venue, there are more than 100 named lakes in Orlando—but only a few beautiful enough for your nuptials. We found a scenic contemporary hotel, a classic dance hall, and a quaint bed and breakfast—all adjacent to picture-perfect lakes—that will satisfy most couples getting ready to say "I do."

The Bohemian Celebration mixes old-school elegance with a contemporary beach vibe due to the Florida-style cream-colored décor and the modern feel of the geometric architecture. Located on the shores of Lake Rianhard, the hotel can accommodate an outdoor ceremony on the Lakeside Terrace—complete with classic white chairs and a ceremony arch—and a large-scale reception with on-site catering in one of its three elegant ballrooms.

A beautiful two-story waterfront venue, Atlantic Dance Hall sits within Disney's BoardWalk and offers a spectacular view of Crescent Lake. The jazzy Art Deco-style ballroom offers seating for over 150 people and plenty of room on its expansive checkered dance floor to party the night away. Perfect for Disney enthusiasts, all flora, décor and entertainment used at the event is provided by Disney—and you can even have the marquee entrance customized with your names in lights.

The charming Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora has hosted weddings for over 125 years. The four elegant indoor room options, which are designed for a more intimate setting, offer a sunny view of the lake; while the Oaks, the Dock, the Pool Deck, the Green Lawn, the Veranda, and the Lakeside Pavillion—whose names imply what to expect in terms of setting—are the many waterside outdoor options. Catering is provided by the inn, and an on-site coordinator is available for day-of planning and more.

Geek Chic

Couples who initially bonded over being nerds at heart might prefer a more modern venue—in both style and technology—for their nuptials. From LED lighting and geometric interior accents to dinosaur displays and interactive exhibits, here are some of the coolest local venues for any couple wanting to embrace their adorable inner geek.

Andrew Springer

The MEZZ, on the second floor of The Sanctuary Downtown, is furnished with modern art and innovative LED lighting, plus a top-notch, state-of-the-art sound system. The 7,000-square-foot venue features wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows and a large dance floor, while the adjacent Plum Room offers a smaller more intimate setting. The venue also has a staff available to help with the entire planning process—food and décor are left completely up to you.

Kristen Weaver

The Orlando Science Center is located in Loch Haven Park, an arts hub that also serves as home to the Orlando Museum of Art, as well as various performing arts venues. With 200,000 square feet of exhibit and event space, there is plenty of room for your guests to dine among the dinosaur fossils and interactive exhibits. This site offers many different location options for your ceremony or reception within the five-floor facility. Science Center staff can provide an on-site coordinator to assist with planning.

Jennifer Werneth

Heaven Event Center offers more than 11,000-square feet of space to use as a blank canvas. White sheer draping matches the 20 white Italian leather sectional couches that can be arranged in different groupings. The venue also provides state-of-the art LED lighting in a palette of colors. There is an option for a customized slide show to be shown in the foyer, plus a Quadraphonic sound system that can be run by an iPod. Bring in any caterer or florist you’d like. Event enhancements and specialists also are available on request.
