The Art Gallery at Mills Park will open its Summer Exhibition 2017 with a reception from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the venue, 1650 N. Mills Ave., Orlando.
The exhibit is the result of a national open call in which works were reviewed and selected by an international panel of judges. Says venue director Dustin Gregg: "The reason I have always been attracted to art, any type of art, is that you don't need language to understand it. Sure, it's good to understand context and history. But sometimes it's just good to look at a painting. And fall in love with it. I wanted to give Orlando an opportunity to fall in love with some amazing art!”
The artists exhibiting are Anthony Astarita, Isabelle Beaubien, Priscilla Billingsley, Robert Brooks, Chris Carr, Nick Criscitelli, Crystal Dombrosky, Lisa Dunlop, Nico Gracey, Chris Gray, Linda Harrison, Mimi Hwang, Renee Lewis, Marlene London, Dan Meneely, Mary Ostrander, Betty Parker, Jennifer Payne, Edward Perez, Chad Pollpeter, Wilson Romero, Robert Ross, Linda Saracino, Gretchen Smith, Claudia Thomas, Ralph Verano, Lillian Verkins and William Watson. Musical artist Aveleon (Caitlin Pequignot) will perform at the reception.
