ZIMMERMANN Celebrates Orlando Boutique Opening

Zimmermann

The iconic, Australian fashion brand ZIMMERMANN celebrated the recent opening of their new boutique in Orlando within the Mall at Millenia, one of Florida’s premier retail destinations. The year-round sunny weather – a natural embodiment of the ZIMMERMANN lifestyle – along with the city’s diverse landmarks, vibrant atmosphere and diverse culture, offered an ideal setting for the brand’s next location.

“We’re really excited to open our first store in Orlando. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response from new and existing clients; it’s always special to have the opportunity to provide them with a beautiful and in-person brand experience. We focused on creating an immersive environment within the space that clients could really dive into and enjoy. The boutique reflects our unique identity, while seamlessly blending the more modern elements of the building, considering the overall flow and layout to enhance the client experience,” shares Nicky Zimmermann, the brand’s Creative Director.

Throughout the design process, ZIMMERMANN, in collaboration with Studio McQualter, were inspired to create a destination reflective of the city’s energy. While dreaming up the space, a strong emphasis was placed on light and color, embracing buoyancy to impart a feeling of openness. A sense of harmony and relaxed flow were a priority from the outset; tranquility realized through opulent retail areas along with wardrobe niches, creating a compelling and seamless experience for clients.

An open entryway with bespoke checkerboard terrazzo floor tiles, ambient vintage lighting (including a stupendous 4-shade wall light) and modernist furnishings, warmly welcomes guests. The interior space opens from a large, custom-made steel entrance door with a vintage pull handle, surrounding render walls, distinctive metal signage and display windows – framed by a standout Noguchi Akari pendant light.

Leading through to the second room – showcasing the Resort ’24 collection as a focal point – architectural pieces such as the mid-century Burlwood ‘match booked’ dining table and Bruno Gatta wall lights shape the space. An intimate jewelry and accessories vestibule with moody-rich burgundy walls, green terrazzo flooring and an antique mirrored wall are featured.

The series of niche retail areas segues into a dedicated and luxurious lounge space, fitted with three facing dressing rooms, with vibrant floral curtaining and completed by a striped, custom-made Kilim rug centering the room. The area pays tribute to timeless, elegant decoration by way of an 18th Century William & Mary black lacquer cabinet, a 1970’s tubular coffee table and French oak armchairs, a 1950’s curved Italian sofa and parchment shades.

A host of special artworks by Australian artists adorn the walls, including paintings and drawings by Emily Ferretti, Stephen Bird and Tom Polo.

All anchored by the feature piece – a vase with a specialist ‘green’ glaze, expressly designed for the store by Australian ceramicist Nori Lindsay.

The ZIMMERMANN Orlando boutique opened showcasing the Fall ’23 collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week alongside its campaign featuring Vivienne Rohner, and the Resort ’24 and Resort Swim ’24 collections – with recently unveiled campaigns featuring Barbara Valente and Malika El Maslouhi respectively – bringing the brand’s signature vision of fun, femininity and optimism to one of the most exciting luxury shopping destinations in the country.
