The Freedom to Be Yourself at Quest
Keisha didn’t just find a place to make art. She found people to share it with.
At Quest’s Training Center in Tampa, a friendship with fellow artist Lucia helped her feel comfortable expressing herself. Soon, Keisha was leading classes and forming an art club, sharing skills she had developed over many years.
Then came her first major art sale.
With her earnings, she enjoyed a shopping trip and a long-awaited meal at Olive Garden. She also began imagining new possibilities for her work, including greeting cards and tie-dyed shirts.
That encouragement reached beyond the art table. Keisha began working on a website with staff support and saving for an iPad to explore digital art and share her work with a wider audience.
“Quest has given me the freedom to be myself,” she says.
Keisha’s talent was already hers. What she found at Quest was encouragement, connection and opportunities to share it.
Your generosity helps sustain the support behind opportunities like these.
Across Central Florida and Tampa Bay, Quest supports children and adults with developmental disabilities through education, therapy, employment services, residential options, adult day training centers and Quest’s Camp Thunderbird.
The details look different for each person. One may be preparing for a job; another may be learning a daily living skill or making friends. The common thread is support that starts with the person, not a single definition of success.
That takes dedicated staff, thoughtful planning and reliable resources. Those needs continue every day, including the days when there is no milestone to photograph.
This year-end, Quest’s “A Full Life Is…” campaign invites you to help sustain that everyday work. Your gift supports opportunities for people to explore their interests, build relationships and participate in their communities.
