Darcy and Brian’s love story began when they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. It blossomed into a life full of love and adventure. The couple’s intimate wedding took place in the city they know and love—St. Petersburg—within walking distance of their home.
When the couple began planning their wedding, Darcy says, they knew they wanted to bring all their favorite people together in the beautiful, inclusive and dynamic city they call home.
“Within walking distance of our house in St. Petersburg, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) was the venue of our dreams,” she says.
They were excited to plan an intimate wedding that felt timeless, intentional and full of warmth and personality. The vendors helped them bring that vision to life.
“Both Brian and I felt strongly that live music was a must, that we wanted the reception to feel like the best dinner party ever and that we had cheese and crackers (Brian’s favorite post-dinner treat) and chocolates (Darcy’s favorite post-dinner treat) instead of a traditional cake for dessert. Morgan Falcon, one of my best friends and owner of Jane of All Trades TPA, created the most incredible custom signage” (including a special bar sign featuring a quote from Darcy’s maternal grandfather).
“While enjoying a glass of red wine and surrounded by family, he’d often say, ‘It just doesn’t get any better than this,’ and it was so meaningful to memorialize this sentiment at our wedding,” says Darcy.
The couple loved the opportunity to utilize so many unique spaces at the MFA—from the gorgeous Membership Garden for their ceremony, to the lively terrace overlooking the water for their cocktail hour, to the stunning conservatory for their reception—as each space is reflective of so much of what the couple loves about St. Pete.
“We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening surrounded by our loved ones as we said, ‘I do,’” says Darcy.
