Orange County Regional History Center Marks 25 Years With Special Celebrations and Events

One Orlando historic treasure isn’t a building or a place: it’s the swans that have been a symbol of City Beautiful for more than a century. And when we trace the history of that link, we come especially to one big, bad bird: Billy the Swan. ©Orange County Regional History Center & Historical Society of Central Florida

For 25 years, the Orange County Regional History Center has been preserving, sharing, and celebrating the stories of Central Florida. On September 29, 2000, the museum opened in the beautifully restored 1927 courthouse in downtown Orlando, moving from its original home in Loch Haven Cultural Park. The shift may have only been three miles, but it represented a giant leap for the museum, one that transformed Orlando’s cultural landscape.

This September, the History Center invites the community to celebrate this milestone with special offers, engaging events, and a look back at how far the museum has come. From September 16 to 29, you can join in honoring its legacy and supporting its future.
