For a generation of Orlando locals and Disney fans, myself included, the building on the West Side of Disney Springs will always spark memories of DisneyQuest, the five-story indoor theme park that blended video games, virtual reality and imagination years before those concepts became mainstream.

Beginning June 29, that iconic space will once again be filled with players chasing high scores, solving puzzles and competing with friends as Level99 officially opens its first Florida location at Walt Disney World Resort.

The highly anticipated attraction transforms the former DisneyQuest site into a 46,800-square-foot playground packed with more than 60 interactive physical and mental challenges. The venue will feature 63 total mini-games and challenges, making it the largest Level99 location to date.

Instead of sitting behind a screen, guests will step into real-world games that require teamwork, strategy, agility and problem-solving. Players can dodge swinging obstacles, crack codes, race against the clock and battle friends in a series of short-form challenges designed to last between one and four minutes.

The experience is built around three distinct styles of play: cooperative Challenge Rooms, competitive Player-vs.-Player Duels and an interactive art scavenger hunt spread throughout the venue.

At the center of the two-story space is a dramatic bar surrounded by games on both levels. More than 40 original works of art are incorporated into the venue, including the largest art installations in the company’s portfolio.

“We’re thrilled to bring Level99 to Walt Disney World Resort and share it with the millions of visitors who come to Orlando each year,” said Level99 Founder and CEO Matt DuPlessie. “As a company founded on innovation and groundbreaking themed entertainment, it is a natural fit to now be at a place built on those very same ideals. We can’t wait to welcome our first Players.”

The attraction is geared primarily toward adults and teens, offering a social alternative to traditional arcades and escape rooms. Every guest receives an RFID-enabled Veloband at check-in, which tracks progress, unlocks challenges and stores scores across visits. Players can return to any Level99 location and continue building their rankings while competing for rewards and leaderboard status.

One of the venue’s biggest draws may be its replayability. All games are designed and manufactured by Level99 at its Massachusetts production facility, and new challenges are regularly rotated into the lineup.

The company says the variety of games accommodates a wide range of skills and abilities, from balance and dexterity to logic and teamwork. Accessibility information is provided at each attraction, and many games are designed to accommodate players with mobility limitations.

When it’s time for a break, guests can refuel with a menu that goes beyond standard theme park fare. Offerings include the company’s award-winning Detroit-style pizza, wagyu burgers, shareable snacks, craft cocktails and local beers. Food and drinks can be ordered from the first-floor kitchen window, the central bar or satellite beverage stations on the second level.

Disney Springs officials believe the concept is a natural fit for the destination’s growing collection of entertainment offerings.

“We know our guests love the variety of experiences here at Disney Springs and Level99 is a perfect addition to make even more fun memories with friends and family,” said Debbie Hart, Vice President, Disney Springs. “We have over 150 ways to shop, dine and play and Level99 is adding to the experience in a big way.”

Ticket sales begin June 22 at Level99.com, with the venue opening to the public June 29.
