She prefers taking client meetings roaming around theme parks versus conference rooms, and that’s just the first sign that you’ve met a woman who lives and breathes themed entertainment. “I’m a roller coaster junkie,” said Ashley Edelbrock, Principal, PGAV Destinations. “My first project out of college was designing a roller coaster at Busch Gardens. Fast forward 16 years later, it still feels unreal – creating unforgettable experiences.” When Edelbrock was offered the chance to plant roots in Central Florida and open PGAV’s Orlando Studio, she jumped. It puts the team at the heart of the industry’s latest trends and talent.
“We are proud to have so many repeat clients both in the region and around the world. Just as our clients value our tenacious curiosity and drive to create success for them, we also focus that attention toward our people,” said Edelbrock. “Our collaborative, multi-disciplinary practice encourages curiosity and growth. Our people have exposure to theme parks, zoos, museums, and more. These together often lead people to spend the large majority of their careers with us.” The firm is the force behind many of Florida’s best-loved attractions including: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Discovery Cove, and the Kennedy Space Center Space Shuttle Atlantis. As Orlando grows its reputation as the world’s Global Creative Capital, Edelbrock and her colleagues are ready for what’s next.
“For us, it’s all about the clients. Planting a stake in Orlando has been one of our best moves and seeing what Ashley has accomplished is impressive…but not surprising,” said fellow Principal at PGAV, Diane Porthouse-Lochner. Whether it’s taking home the prize at the THEA Awards (Cosmic Rewind & Sea World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi) or dropping by her kid’s school to teach the science behind roller coasters, Orlando suits Edelbrock and she is happy to return the love.
