As the Founder and President of Touched by Type 1, Elizabeth Forrest has spent more than two decades creating a powerful platform of support, education, and advocacy for individuals living with type 1 diabetes. Diagnosed at age 10, Elizabeth transformed her personal experience into a mission-driven organization that now reaches thousands across Central Florida and beyond.

Under her leadership, Touched by Type 1 has launched innovative and accessible programs such as the D-Box, a care package for newly diagnosed individuals; Type 1 at School, which equips educators to better support students; and an Annual Conference that provides rich, age-appropriate content for children, teens, and adults. All programs are offered at no cost, eliminating barriers and ensuring families get the support they need when they need it most. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit that empowers individuals with type 1 diabetes to thrive.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Elizabeth serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys, the second largest personal injury law firm in the country. She oversees operations for nearly 500 employees, guiding strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence that ensures clients receive the highest level of legal representation.

Elizabeth’s ability to blend purpose with performance—and lead with both heart and strategy—has made her a true force in Central Florida. She moves the city not only through the roles she holds but through the lives she impacts every single day.
