If you thought Disney rides already went hard on the “hold onto your ears” factor, just wait because the next 18 months at Walt Disney World Resort are about to feel like a runaway mine train that’s been hanging out with The Muppets after three espressos. Here’s what we know so far:
Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
When: Nov. 7, 2025 | Where: Animal Kingdom
Finally, a holiday we can all get behind: Zoogether Day. This brand-new 4D show at the Tree of Life Theater stars Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and a brand-new howling host, Heidi Howler, replacing It’s Tough to Be a Bug! which closed earlier this year. Expect song, dance, and probably a fox making jokes at the expense of bunnies. Bonus: you can meet Judy and Nick in fresh outfits from Zootopia 2, because even cartoon animals get a wardrobe budget.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s Glow-Up
When: 2026 | Where: Magic Kingdom
The “wildest ride in the wilderness” is trading in its dust for dazzle. New renderings show Rainbow Caverns joining the ride … think magical glowing caves that look peaceful … until they decide to mess with you. Just when you thought your train was safe, it’s not. But hey, it’s Disney, so at least you’ll scream with a smile.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
When: 2026 | Where: Hollywood Studios
Aerosmith? Out. Electric Mayhem? In. Picture this: Scooter wrangling penguin sound engineers, Dr. Teeth flashing that golden grin, and J. P. Grosse pulling strings in the background. The pre-show is chaos, the limo ride is mayhem, and yes, the giant guitar out front is going full psychedelic. Buckle in for a screaming limo ride powered by rock, Muppets, and questionable decision-making.
But wait, there’s more (also 2026):
-
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is leveling up, so prepare for fresh gameplay that’ll finally prove who’s the true Space Ranger in your family.
-
The Mandalorian and Grogu are boarding Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, because obviously Baby Yoda needs a better gig than just sipping soup.
-
And The Magic of Disney Animation is returning to Hollywood Studios, because nostalgia sells and Disney knows it.
So strap in, hydrate, and maybe bring earplugs. Late 2025 and 2026 at Walt Disney World? One word: chaos. The magical kind.
