Be transported to a time when generosity of spirit ruled the day in this perfect holiday treat for the entire family. The first opera ever written for television in 1951, this classic tale of a precocious crippled shepherd boy who happens to be visited by the Three Kings on their mission to behold the Christ-child fares even better on the stage. The music is for everyone.

Sung in English.

Opera Orlando presents the Florida premiere of this poignant and moving work set during World War I at the Western Front, Christmas 1914. Out of the violence there was a silence, then a song. A German soldier stepped into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht (Silent Night)”. Thus began an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. Celebrate the holiday season by reliving this remarkable true story, told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.

Written by Peter Rothstein with Vocal Arrangements by Erick Lichte and Timothy C. Takach, All is Calm is critically acclaimed by the New York Times and Star Tribune. This will be an intimate event of music and theater as the cast performs a capella and in-the-round.
