Sophia’s Trattoria presents its Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes, a celebratory menu honoring Italian tradition. The meal begins with Crispy Smelt served with lemon caper aioli, Shrimp Bagna Cauda in a garlic anchovy butter “warm bath” with crudité, and Calamari Stufato featuring braised squid with pomodoro, capers, raisins, pine nuts, and filone.
Entrées include Capestante with diver scallop, beluga lentils, parsnip nage, and smoked trout roe; Spaghetti Vongole with littleneck clams, Vermentino, pepperoncino, and chittara; Acqua Pazza with red snapper in “crazy water” with capers, pomodorini, and artichokes; and Bronzino with grilled sea bass, charred escarole, and walnut salsa Genovese.
The feast concludes with Christmas Cake layered with spiced mascarpone, glint wine reduction, and mulled wine jelly.
