Stetson University, Building a Culture of Kindness
Since 1883, Stetson University has been a gem in the educational history of Florida. Stetson is a highly ranked, private, comprehensive, residential university that offers a rich array of undergraduate programs in science, health, business and music, as well as both traditional liberal arts and professional/pre-professional academic and graduate programs. As an institution that values the residential experience, Stetson provides a wide range of housing options on campus — from traditional residence halls, single suites, apartment-style living and Greek life to animal-friendly housing. A new 305-bed residence hall will open in January 2026 in the heart of campus, providing more places for students to gather and study, such as an amphitheater and courtyard.

Stetson’s campus in DeLand has been named one of the Most Beautiful College Campuses in the South. The campus is located just steps away from thriving historic Downtown DeLand whose two-mile Main Street has been recognized as one of the best in America by Parade Magazine and CNN. It’s perfectly positioned between Daytona Beach and Orlando, with easy access to both. Stetson’s second campus in Gulfport, near St. Petersburg, houses the College of Law, which ranks No. 1 in the nation for Trial Advocacy.
An Emphasis on Experiential Learning
Through Stetson’s Hatter Ready program, students work closely with world-class faculty in the classroom and then apply those learnings in real-world settings, such as internships, research, study abroad and many more. Old and New
While Stetson is Florida’s oldest private university, the university is not only about its heritage. Stetson recently renovated several central buildings on campus, including the Sage Hall Science Center, and also built the Cici & Hyatt Brown Hall for Health & Innovation. Currently, the historical reconstruction of Hulley Tower is underway and will be completed in early 2026, rising again to 116 feet tall with a new 52-bell carillon.
