Joseph E. Snavely, MD
ABOUT THE DOCTOR
Joseph E. Snavely, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon with fellowship training at Northwestern University in Chicago in both neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine surgery. He is a Central Florida native who obtained his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Orlando Health, including a year serving as Chief Resident.
INNOVATION
Dr. Snavely has special training in minimally invasive spine surgery, surgical and non-surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders and scoliosis deformity, as well as complex revision spine
surgery. He was one of the first surgeons in the country to use 7D Surgical image guided navigation. 7D is now routinely utilized for safer and more efficient spine surgery, while reducing radiation exposure.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Snavely currently serves as Vice Chief of Surgery at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and is a faculty surgeon with the Orlando Health Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in well-respected spine surgery journals and presented his research at numerous scientific meetings receiving awards for his presented work.
PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Snavely’s goal is to provide the highest quality of spine care, treating each patient as if they were a member of his own family. His focus is to ensure that each patient is educated on their available treatment options and stays actively involved in the decision-making process. Dr. Snavely is on the medical staff at both Orlando Health and AdventHealth.
