The Bride Irene Tan, 26, is a wedding accessories designer and owner of etsy.com/shop/williamandwillow
The Groom Anthony Staffa, 29, is an athletic trainer at Cora Health Services, Inc.
How They Met Irene, a native of Australia, met Anthony at Blue Springs right outside of Orlando while visiting a mutual friend. Soon after heading back to her homeland, Irene made a second trip to Orlando and was surprised to find Anthony waiting for her at the airport. “We spent the day together turning the simplest of errands into an adventure,” says Irene. Irene soon left to teach at a summer camp in Pennsylvania and when she got back, the couple decided to take a romantic trip to the Keys. “I knew he was the one when the traveler in me wanted to settle down in one place—with Anthony in Orlando,” Irene says.
Their Engagement Anthony made careful plans to visit Irene in Australia to propose. After being picked up from the airport, he received approval from Irene’s father—“or so he thought,” says Irene. During a sunset climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Anthony popped the question. “That’s when we discovered that, much to Anthony’s surprise, my dad had no idea that Anthony was planning to propose!” says Irene. Regardless of the misunderstanding, her father was pleased and the happy couple decided to wed in Orlando.
Their Wedding A vintage-garden theme with exotic accents to show the distance they traveled to be together.
