Arts Beat: Python Sing-along

Extras needed Saturday for 'Spamalot' video.

You say you’re a fan of that catchy Monty Python song "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life"? Here's your big chance to prove just how much of a tuneful optimist you are.

The Orlando Shakespeare Theater needs extras to be in a promotional video that will consist of an appropriately Python-esque performance of the song. Bonus points to anyone who comes in any sort of Arthurian/knightly/Python garb. So break out the helmets and chain mail.  Also helpful if you have a listen to the song to refresh your memory, especially the final refrain.

If you are up to the quest, be at Loch Haven Park, at the big field between the Rep and the Orlando Museum of Art, from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29.

It's all for a worthy cause: to pump up interest in the Shakes production of Spamalot, their first show of its season, Sept. 9 - Oct. 11. The park is at 812 E. Rollins St.
