Doing the Most Good in Orlando

It’s the holiday season and you hear that familiar ringing outside of your favorite supermarket or department store. Your heart says that you would like to give. But like so many other people these days, you rarely carry cash.

No need to worry, because we now have you covered. This year, The Salvation Army is introducing a new way in which you can help us Do The Most Good. During this year’s holiday season, you can give to The Salvation Army via your debit or credit card.

For the first time when you see that famous Red Kettle accompanied by one of our bell ringers, you will also see a device that allows you to make a donation without having to worry about digging for cash in your pocket, purse or wallet. We like to call this device a dip jar, as in a quick dip of your debit or credit card and you will be on your way. You will most likely refer to it as a major convenience.

In the end, your contribution will help benefit the thousands of people we serve in the Orlando area throughout the year. Last year we provided shelter for nearly 2,000 people (kids, vets, adults and seniors) who slept on our campus. We served more than 205,000 meals and distributed more than 1,800 general food bags and food bags for children. We sent 129 disadvantaged children to our Camp Keystone to experience the joys of arts education, while providing them some relief from their troubled homes. We provided more than 300 low income seniors and adults needing medical accommodation a place to live in the form of low income subsidized housing.

With your help this holiday season we will continue these efforts, along with providing adult rehabilitation services, emergency disaster aid and more. So be on the lookout for our Red Kettles and don’t be afraid to take your debit or credit card for a dip.
